Talk to anyone at Mississippi Power and you’re sure to hear the praises of Anthony Wilson, the company’s chairman, president, and CEO, but his reputation reaches far beyond the company he works for. Wilson is known for his strong faith and commitment to his family. He and
his wife, Tonya, have three daughters: Meghan, Katie, and Natalie. He is active in his church as he and Tonya lead a Life Group for young married couples at First
Baptist Church Gulfport.
Perhaps the most significant of all
Wilson’s leadership achievements occurred during his role as chairman of the Mississippi Economic Council. Under Wilson’s leadership, the organization garnered more than 1,000 businesses
and individuals to support the legislature making the historic votes to change the divisive state flag that had flown since 1894. The new inclusive design has

Gulfport “Rufferee” Attends Puppies at the Playoff

Earlier this year, two team members from American Medical Response (AMR) Gulfport loaded up and headed to one
of the most highly anticipated matchups of the season: Puppies at the Playoff. Presented by AMR parent company Global Medical Response, the adorable event matched up two teams of adoptable Labrador puppies who were playing for all the kibbles and cuddles.
Team members from the Global Medical Response Therapy Dog team were in attendance to help “rufferee” the event, and demonstrate the importance of their day-to-day work with first responders from around the nation. In addition to all the cuteness, Puppies at the Playoff also served as the kickoff event for the College Football Playoffs Championship.
One such “rufferee” was one of AMR
Gulfport’s own, Tucker. He and AMR Deputy Chief of Operations and GMR Therapy Dog Handler Charles Wise were excited to represent our area in Indianapolis. “Tucker and I loved being able to show fans how our work makes a difference in the lives of first responders, and hopefully we can help some puppies find their forever homes at the same time,” said Wise.
