67th Annual Spring Pilgrimage
SET FOR MARCH 27-30
he 67th Annual Spring Pilgrimage takes place March 27-30 spotlighting homes, gardens and historical sites all along the Coast. The pilgrimage, the South’s only complimentary home and garden pilgrimage, is presented by the Mississippi Gulf
Coast Council of Garden Clubs with 12 clubs participating. This year’s theme is Marching into Spring.
“We invite you to experience the pleasure of exploring a variety of venues from gracious homes with beautiful interiors and colorful gardens to local museums and historic churches,” says Pilgrimage Chairman Daphne Matthews. “Included this year are art and floral exhibits and demonstrations as well as opportunities to enjoy the charm and culture of the Gulf Coast.”
Just one example of the interesting homes on the tour is the Biloxi home of Russ and Abby Guess who used local sources for materials. Their exterior chimney is made of oyster shells from Crystal Seas Oysters in Pass Christian.
On March 27 at 9 a.m., the pilgrimage opens at the Biloxi Visitors Center where brochures are available with the daily schedule of events. The website www.springpilgrimage.com also has a complete daily schedule.

Home Show March 24 & 25 at the Coliseum
The Home Show is going strong after 30 years and promises to deliver a first rate 31st annual show March 24 and 25. Sponsored by the Home Builders Association of the Mississippi Coast, the two-day event takes place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
“The Home Show is the place to discover the latest trends and ideas in the home building industry,” says the association’s Executive Officer Kelly Palermo. “It’s also a great opportunity to talk to professionals who can make your ideas come to life. There will be vendors, including those with doors, windows, flooring, fireplaces, insulation, lumber, home décor and more.”
Butler Homes owner Joshua Workman added, “Energy efficient homes are becoming the norm as more homes now have spray foam insulation, LED lighting, and energy efficient windows, heating, and appliances. One of the hottest trends today is smart homes. Smart home owners have the capability to operate their lights, doors, cameras, thermostat, alarms, and more from the convenience of their phones.”
