They say the eyes are the window to the soul, but many would argue that the way you choose to decorate your home is an even greater reflection of who you are. From colors to accessories, the home is a direct representation of your personality, often times stemming from personal experience and lifestyle.
UNIQUE LIGHTING can double as art and give your home a style of it’s own.
With a new year comes a fresh wave of trends, many of which will find their way into our homes. When the Pantone Color Institute revealed the 2017 Color of the Year in December, the design world got a leg up on the direction that interior styling was headed, and it’s certainly looking bright. Greenery, a vibrant yellow-green, embodies the “go-green vibe” and its growing vegetarian trends and increased concern for the environment.
Other big color themes in 2017 will carry over from last year, including light neutrals paired with pops of color and metallics. “Pops of light, blue are huge right now,” said Katie Cusick, owner of Nella Home Interiors and Gifts in Gulfport. “It’s a
more neutral tone than turquoise or aqua and pairs well with almost everything.
It also creates a soothing and tranquil environment.”
“Grey tones such as greige and Revere pewter have been huge, as have soft
whites such as ballet white and sea pearl,” said Vicki Howard, owner and color consultant at Howard’s Paint & Decorating.
