with “extra shawarma on the side” then you aren’t doing it correctly. Served with rice pilaf and sauteed vegetables, the Shawarma will never disappoint. Still, one of my personal favorites are the Chicken Fajitas. Chicken Shawarma and generous portions of cheese are folded into a flour tortilla and grilled to crispy perfection. Pico de Gallo, sour cream, and fresh guacamole make the most perfect garnishments and are rounded out with a bowl of house Charra beans.
Phoenicia proudly serves only aged prime beef, and you cannot go wrong with any of their steaks. A house favorite is the Half Rack of Lamb. Packed with Middle Eastern spices and served with a Port demi-glaze, the lamb – best charbroiled rare – is an exceptional dish that showcases many incredible flavors in one succulent dish.
If you are looking for seafood, both the crab cakes and the red snapper are amazing choices. The Gulf Crab Cakes feature two jumbo lump crab meat cakes that are lightly breaded and sauteed. A Tasso and sherry cream sauce accompanies this dish that is served with rice pilaf and sauteed vegetables. The Red Snapper with lump Crabmeat
is a customer favorite. A rich, tomato beurre blanc sauce tops a lightly pan-fried snapper and is adorned with fresh, jumbo lump crabmeat. It is an excellent choice for any seafood lover. But the dark horse amongst the seafood fare is the Coconut Shrimp. Beer battered shrimp are hand rolled in sweet coconut and lightly fried. The highlight of this dish is the accompanying sauce consisting of a spicy orange marmalade. It’s sweet and tangy and incredibly good.
Phoenicia Gourmet is a restaurant that truly offers something for everyone. They boast an incredible breakfast featuring hearty omelets, from scratch pancakes and waffles and a delicious variety of Benedicts. Lunch and dinner specials are available in addition to the already scrumptious menu and you can even buy dishes such as the Chicken Shawarma family style, complete with salad and dessert.
