“It was the windiest and coldest day
of the year but we survived and it
was beautiful. We had our reception afterwards at One Thirty One Lameuse. A lot of family decided not to go due to COVID.”
Masks and hand sanitizer were distributed all around the venue. Rachel, an online tness coach and trainer, and Micky, a physical education teacher and football coach at Gulfport High School, feel blessed that they were able to have their wedding and travel to St. Lucia for their honeymoon.
Shay Smith and Justin Danise were married on December 19 at The Stables in Vancleave, which Shay describes as
a fantastic venue for their ceremony
and reception. “It has two large doors at each end that were open for air ow and all of the windows were open,” she says. “There's an outdoor component that looks out onto a beautiful pond and sprawling land.”
The guest list was dramatically reduced to ensure the health and safety of guests, each of whom was greeted with a complimentary face mask and hand sanitizer upon entering. All tables and chairs were positioned to ensure proper social distancing for both the ceremony and the reception. Shay, a casino marketing professional, had ve
bridesmaids and Justin, an engineer at Ingalls, had eight groomsmen.
“I cannot say enough wonderful things about all of our vendors who wore face masks, had negative COVID testing, and made adjustments to how they operated
to ensure that health and safety were maintained,” Shay a rmed. “Adhering to the guidelines was important to me.”
This couple was heartbroken when they had to postpone their April wedding just two weeks from the wedding date. “When our December wedding date approached, we wanted to move forward so we could not only have our big day, but could move into a new chapter together,” Shay says. “I’m happy to share that not one person in attendance at our wedding became sick. This shows how important it is to respect one another, listen to our bodies, and take the proper precautions.”
