Biloxi residents Kristina and Mike Graham met by chance while working out seven years ago. “Mike played racket ball, and I did zumba,” says Kristina. “While on my trip to the water fountain, we struck up a conversation that led to Mike teaching me how to play racket ball, and it was a lasting impression.”
Although they are 16 years apart in age, Kristina and Mike both quickly found they had many interests in common, in- cluding their love of travel and adventure. “We took a trip to Thailand in March 2015,” adds Kristina. “On our way there, we stopped in Dubai, visited the tallest building in the world, Burj Kahlifam, where he asked me to marry him!” From there, the pair vacationed for three weeks in exotic Phuket, Thailand. “We experienced a new culture together which helped form our bond.”
The couple married in 2015 during an intimate ceremony at Biloxi’s White House Hotel surrounded by their family and close friends. Their love of travel has since taken them to the ski slopes and abroad, most recently returning from the Dominican Re- public. They also are parents to Mike’s two children, ages 8 and 11. Kristina believes they share the same parenting style, giving them yet another common bond.
Both Kristina and Mike are business owners. Mike manages his family’s 30-year-old business, Nursing Management Inc., which provides home health care along the Gulf Coast. Kristina is the proprietor of Tribe, a women’s clothing boutique in downtown Ocean Springs.
What’s their secret to their happy and healthy marriage? Ac- cording to Kristina, it’s laughter. “When times get hard, we try to think of the best moments together, those always out-weigh the bad,” says Kristina. “Mike always makes me laugh,” she adds. “He’s my kind of goofy!”
