FROM THE editor’s desk
Ah, February, the month of love! As a hopeless romantic, I just can’t help but adore this month’s issue. Every year it’s my favorite to work on because we get to throw a South Mississippi Living wedding and work with so many amazing vendors.
This year we shot the cover at South Beach Biloxi and were blessed not only by the beautiful scenery, but a perfectly timed sunset. Our models, locals Kimberly and Ryan DeoCampo, were outfitted by Bridal and Formal Boutique & House of Tux and Pav & Broome with styling by Chuck Kelly Salon Spa. In addition, the cake, flowers and rented décor were provided by Scarlet Pearl Resort Casino, Pine Hills Floral Designs and ABC Rentals respectively. And of course, thank you to the man behind the camera, James Edward Bates. We couldn’t have pulled this shoot off without you all, and thank you from the bottom of our overflowing hearts.
Also in February we observe American Heart Month and Valentine’s Day with special features in our Healthy Living section. Is eating chocolate good for your health? In small doses it might just be.
Carrying on with the Wedding & Romance theme, hear from three young couples on how they decorated their homes on a budget without short-changing their styles and personalities. Closing out this issue, Ashlei Johnson with South Beach Biloxi gives her Final Say.
