focus is home-cooked Italian fare, having a good pizza is important, and Joe’s did not disappoint. The 12-inch cheese pizza was excellent, with a homemade sauce that had a hint of bell pepper.
Joe’s has an extensive menu of baked dishes such as lasagna, and manicotti, pastas, chicken dishes including Alfredo and parmesan, seafood items, steaks and veal.
The huge portion of eggplant parmesan came on top of a bed
of angel hair pasta with marinara sauce and was topped with a crust of Italian cheese such as mozzarella and parmesan. The eggplant was lightly breaded and fried before finding its way to the top of the pasta. It was delicious.
Dayna tried the spinach ravioli with Alfredo sauce, which was also a baked item. One bite into the ravioli, which was filled with spinach and ricotta cheese, and one thing was certain — the pasta was made fresh. When it comes
to comfort food, homemade pasta
is at the top of the list, especially when it’s fork tender and melts in your mouth. Her portion was also quite large and more than half of it was placed in a to-go box.
If somehow you are still hungry after a meal at Joe’s,
they have a full line of desserts including several types of cheesecake. But what really caught our eyes were the traditional Italian desserts such as lemoncello, tiramisu and cannoli cream. However, we were far too full to venture into the sweets. Perhaps we will try one on our next trip.
Joe’s also has a lunch special that’s available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday- Friday. For about $10, you can choose from one of several entrees such as spaghetti and meatballs, chicken cacciatore and beef ravioli with a salad and bread. My only concern with a Joe’s lunch would be falling asleep at my desk after a wonderful, home-cooked Italian meal.
