Make sure to bring anything that has inspired your wedding. Color swatches, textures, and flowers all are very helpful. The more details you bring, the better feel the designer has for what you desire.
Know your budget. Many brides are concerned with being upfront about their budget, fearing they may be taken advantage of. Worry not. Reputable bakeries price their cakes by the serving. Your guest count determines the price just as much as the design does. Being upfront will save you and your designer some headaches and sticker shock.
Make sure the bakery offers you a contract. If there’s no contract, there should be no deal. It protects you as a customer and the bakery that is supplying the cake. A good contract will make sure to protect you as a customer in the rare case that a disaster occurs. A wedding cake is a huge investment and should be treated as such.

Use a licensed business. This cannot be stressed enough. There are many options out there for suppliers of wedding cakes. Make sure you are using a bakery that is reputable, established, licensed, and insured. Ask to see the latest Mississippi Health Department inspection. This helps establish your confidence that you are making the best choice.
