ROMANCE & WEDDING coast history preserved
Old Southern Charm
Nestled amid the live oak trees
lies Oak Crest Mansion Inn, a bed
and breakfast and event facility that hearkens back to old Southern charm and hospitality. The historic home,
a stately white mansion with classic columns, is built on 12 acres and offers a wide range of locations for wedding venues.
Brides and grooms can exchange vows indoors or outdoors, which makes Oak Crest a unique place for weddings. Brides can choose to marry anywhere on the property, such as the front fountain, underneath the oak trees, or in the gazebo. If weather is
a concern, the ceremony can be held indoors in the foyer of the main house, which features a stunning grand staircase, or in the chapel, which is lined with stained glass. The ballroom is a popular spot for receptions.
Owners Erin and Chase Moseley
bought the estate in October 2007. Like many buildings in the area, Oak Crest had fallen into disrepair, and while some buyers may have just torn the buildings down, the Moseleys wanted to preserve a part of Gulf Coast history.
“We felt strongly that after so many things had been lost on the Coast
in Hurricane Katrina that it was important for someone to step in and save her,” Erin Moseley said. “We feel strongly about being community

partners, so we wanted to open it to the public so everyone could enjoy it. Once you have been here, you are part of the Oak Crest family.”
Oak Crest strives offers the
entire experience of on-site event coordination, with spaces for events
of all sizes, complete with a chef,
event coordinator, and valet parking. Packages are flexible, built to each bride and groom’s personality and tastes, with the goal of removing as much stress as possible while making the couple, along with their family and friends, feel as pampered as possible. “We make every bride’s experience unique,” Moseley said. “It is always handcrafted around each couple.”
In addition to weddings, Oak Crest hosts a bed and breakfast and fine dining in the Julep Restaurant. Charity events and other parties are also hosted on the property.
