Cantrell pops the question to Harrelson in memorable way
Cree Cantrell realizes he set the bar pretty high for marriage proposals when he asked Colby Harrelson to marry him. It was a year ago and involved trickery, flowers, food, friends and family.
“He tricked me into going to a suite at the Beau Rivage by saying it was the suite of
my best friend from Birmingham,” Harrelson recalls. “He had flowers and a photographer waiting there. After
his proposal, we went
to Jazzeppi’s where
my favorite band was
playing and 200 friends and family members were waiting.”
“I know I’ve set a high bar for grooms, but I wanted it to be memorable,” Cantrell says.
He adds that he’s not nervous thinking about the February 20 wedding but probably will be on the big day, “especially when I see her walking down the aisle.”
The bride and groom are both from Biloxi and have dated
for more than four years. The ceremony will be at Nativity Cathedral and the reception will be at the White House Hotel. She
is the daughter of Angel and Stacy Harrelson and he is the son of Donna and Steve Cantrell.
“I think we’ve covered everything. It’s been fun and so far I have not
felt stressed,” Harrelson said as she makes final preparations. “With 10 little kids in the ceremony, there may be some surprises.”
The wedding colors are white, cream, blush,
gold and black. There will be nine bridesmaids and nine groomsmen, three junior bridesmaids, four flower girls and six ring bearers. The bridesmaids’s dresses will reflect the bride’s chosen colors. The groomsmen will wear standard black tuxedos with J. Hilburn custom-made shirts and bow ties, gifts from the groom.
The honeymoon trip will be to New York City rather than
