The Circle of Red and Red Tie Society are vital parts of the American Heart Association’s campaign to provide more heart healthy education. These two groups are made up of local women and men who contribute time and
resources year round to increase community awareness of heart disease. They also provide a big boost for the annual Go Red for Women event.
Tiffany Guttierrez, regional director for the American Heart Association, says this special group of men
and women contribute significantly to support the association’s work. “Their involvement is crucial to drive local support for lifesaving research and education,” she

said. “The Circle of Red is like a grassroots sisterhood that’s made up of amazing women who advocate for women’s health and are determined to save lives. These women are true ambassadors who have stepped up to the cause to fight the number one killer in women, heart disease. We could not do this without them.”
The 2016 Circle of Red members include Joan Strayham, Mallory Strayham, Dorothy Shaw, Jillian Ladner, Jaime Hallman, Kellie Neuman, Angelyn Treutel-Zeringue, Brenda Whitwell, and Dr. Andrea Davis. The Red
Tie members are Dr. Richard Eubanks, Center for Cardiovascular Surgery at Singing River Health System, and Todd Trenchard, Bacot-McCarty Foundation.
