Let’s talk about the bathroom your guests will use. Nice towels make a real impression on your guests. Hopefully, you treat yourself to nice towels too, but if you are like everyone else, oldies but goodies get kept far longer than they should. Spring for two sets of nice towels for the guest bath! Put out new soap. Those hotel soaps you hide in your suitcase, so you get a new bar every day, are perfect for this. Just make sure the ones you share with company don’t have the hotel name pressed into them! The bathroom is another place
for cleared space and a basket or dish for personal belongings. Make a hair dryer available, be sure there is a drinking cup by the sink, and if you don’t have a full-length mirror in the guest room, one here is nice.
You are going to have visitors when you live in South Mississippi because there is simply no other place like it. Whether it’s friends and family you haven’t seen in years or new friends who are staying with you for the first time, you want to make everyone feel welcome. And when our guests are those we miss the most when they are not with us, like parents and siblings, or those kids we sent off to college or places far beyond, there’s not much we won’t do to let them know how happy we are to see them. And when we can get them to come home for the holidays, well that’s just the best present ever.
