The National Diabetes & Obesity Research Institute (NDORI) was established in 2014 to make a visible di erence in our state and region. We collaborate with institutional, professional, and community partners to improve obesity and diabetes care and management as we work to cure these disorders.
NDORI is part of the Tradition Medical City in North Biloxi. Together with William Carey University and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, we are working to build on our state’s strong medical and health education programs, attract healthcare and industry partners to our region, and increase access to care and resources.
“NDORI is delighted to work with the health care professionals, schools and colleges, businesses, and community members of the great state of Mississippi to improve the national scourges of obesity and diabetes,” states NDORI Executive Director Dr. Stephen Farrow.
NDORI collaborates with education, clinical, and government partners state-wide to deliver lifestyle, nutrition, and healthy living information to communities through obesity and diabetes education and prevention programs. NDORI sponsors and supports community health events with diabetes risk assessment, body mass index, blood glucose testing, cardiovascular risk screening, and health education. Our multi-disciplinary sta work with our patients and their primary clinicians to achieve healthy-patient goals through innovative, individualized, evidence-based prevention and treatment strategies. NDORI also conducts and supports research to improve obesity and diabetes understanding, prevention, and treatment, and to help discover cures for obesity and diabetes.
