black pepper country gravy and served with a helping of mashed potatoes.
The seafood platter has fried Mississippi Delta catfish, shrimp, oysters and beer-battered hush puppies, and with the addition
of seafood gumbo and a cup of crawfish etouffee, is one of the most inclusive, not to mention tasty, platters we’ve ever had.
The house-made cocktail sauce (our preference over tartar) with horseradish and hot sauce gave each bite a zing. Bell peppers, tomatoes and garlic are some of the ingredients that make the shrimp and crawfish pasta so delicious, but it’s the tarragon cream sauce that really makes this filling dish so good.
Bayview Café also includes burgers, po-boys, salads and classic sandwiches. There is even a nod to the restaurant’s former Italian style with Little Italy
favorites: shrimp scampi, chicken Parmesan and crispy crust pizza. Also there’s a thick, flavorful pork chop that has roasted hot cherry and sweet red bell peppers and a roasted garlic and onion jus. Parmesan and herb potatoes round out the dish.
Along with the dinner selections, Bayview Café has specialties for breakfast and lunch. A meal at the café would not be complete without one of the amazing desserts. The Boozey Nanner cream pie has house- made bourbon banana cream filling. The chocolate pretzel bread pudding features bourbon salted caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. For a cool way
to end dinner, try the strawberry lemonade shortcake that is served in a mason jar that features layers of pound cake, fresh-sliced berries and Grand Marnier chantilly creme.
