For nearly 80 years, Coast Electric has served homes and businesses in South Mississippi. While providing reliable, affordable electric service is our core task, there’s so much more to this company. We’re a cooperative, meaning we operate a little differently. One of the biggest differences
is that we are owned and led by the people we serve. You aren’t just a customer at Coast Electric — you’re a member.
Coast Electric is also guided by a set of seven principles. Co-ops all over the country use these principles to make decisions and determine services for their members. One
of those principles is showing concern for the community, something in which our employees take a lot of pride. From coaching little league to serving meals at a soup kitchen, our employees don’t just walk the walk, they talk the talk.
As members of our cooperative, you’re an essential part of everything we do and it takes you to make these efforts successful. This holiday season, we’re starting a new
project called Operation Round Up. Each month, your bill will be rounded to the next dollar amount. Most members will end up putting in an average of $0.50 per month. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but when you combine your donation to other members’ donations, it adds up.
If even 85 percent of our members participate in Operation Round Up, we could put nearly $418,000 into our community each year, for the cost of your spare change. If you don’t want to participate, we understand, but we hope you want to take part in this project. For an average of $0.50 a month, your donation will make a lasting impact for your neighbors and friends in need.
We think that’s a great value. Mother Theresa said, “Do small things with great love.” Imagine the impact we could have if we all chose to do this small thing for our community. We look forward to doing great things together.
