The Coast’s fine dining scene has blossomed over the past few years,
and at the top of that list is Thirty-
Two. Named for its location on the thirty-second floor of the IP Casino Hotel, this AAA Four Diamond Award restaurant has also been recognized
by Wine Spectator magazine as Best of Awards for Excellence for its wine list. Accolades like that are hard to come by and provide assurance that this is a very special place indeed.
If you are coming with someone special and have a romantic evening
in mind, make your reservation for sundown. There is no more spectacular view from any location, and you
will love the elegant, but warm and
welcoming ambiance for which Thirty- Two is famous.
The menu is three pages of temptation that you will not want to rush through. My preference for a perfect evening is a selection of appetizers, not served all at once but one at a time. Try starting with the seared scallops and foie gras. It is simply stunning with smoked foie gras, cranberry apple compote and house made bacon jam on savory pumpkin toast. Speechless!
There are nine appetizers to choose from, plus soups and salads. I recommend every single one of them, but the lobster bisque is something quite special. The plate arrives with the butter poached lobster artfully plated,
