LEISURE
Hey, y’all! Nicole here, your Gulf Coast Gal.

I don’t know about you, but I grew
up listening to The King. Not the
one across the pond, the one with
deep roots here in Mississippi. I
have fond memories of Elvis’s music echoing throughout the house during our routine Saturday morning deep cleaning time. When I was a little bit older, I learned that Mr. Presley not only was from Mississippi, but often visited the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was just awestruck by that fact. Of all the places in the world, The King of Rock and Roll could travel to, he picked our community. Even as a younger kid, I think this was just another thing that planted the notion that this community of ours is just so darn special.
One of the places Elvis stayed is actually nestled in a back neighborhood of Ocean Springs. Gulf Hills Hotel and Resort is now under new ownership
and has gone through quite a revival. I’ve been following along with the renovations on their social media pages and booked a little one-night staycation almost as soon as their website went live!
Let me start by telling you, the exceptional customer service started even prior to checking in. I received a text thanking me for booking my
upcoming stay and offering me some additional packages available. These weren’t the normal turn down services, these were unique and not something I’ve seen on the Gulf Coast. It just continued in that pattern from there!
Check in was a breeze and the front desk team were such gems. My hotel room was the perfect mix of modern elegance with a nod to the hotel’s vintage roots. They even have a suite dedicated to the legend himself! Gulf Hills Hotel and Resort has a luxurious pool area, a gorgeous ballroom, and a groovy lounge aptly named the Sunset Lounge. I highly recommend you grab a nightcap there and watch the sunset over the bayou. It was such an elegant experience and I already can’t wait to go back.
I can’t wait for you to see the vlog of this stay on my YouTube channel, @GulfCoastGal! Please connect with me on the Mississippi Gulf Coast Facebook page to dive more into the history of the area with
fun #throwback posts, gorgeous sunsets, fun places to dine and
so much more. You can also now follow @mississippigulfcoast on Instagram!
