Get ready to embark on a magical journey through 25 years of holiday wonder as Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) proudly presents its annual Festival of Lights on December 1. Since its humble beginnings in 1999, this beloved event has been transformed into a dazzling extravaganza that promises to light up the hearts of children and adults alike!
The Festival of Lights is not just about fun; it’s about community, too. Dr. Ladd Taylor, vice president of the Perkinston Campus and George County Center, says, “We are so excited about the popularity of Festival of Lights and how it showcases our beautiful campus. Being a part of the great community here in Stone County and in South Mississippi is important
to us, and we want everyone from child
to senior to enjoy all the fun activities available at this year’s festival.”
Festivities kick off at 5 p.m. with Santa’s Parade, a petting zoo, Candyland pictures with the Perkettes, pictures with Santa himself, and the chance to paint your very own holiday ornament, mug, or plate. MGCCC students and local musical talents will set the stage for a melodious evening, culminating in the enchanting reading of “The Night Before Christmas” and breathtaking fireworks that will leave you in awe.
