There are a multitude of venues to throw back a local brew and hear live music. Live performances provide sweet background music to most happenings along the coast. There are three Little Theater organizations and a half a dozen independent live theater venues. Whether you enjoy watching the cast or joining the cast, there is are an impressive number of opportunities for theater lovers. And then there are the casinos, offering headliner style entertainment, top notch restaurants, and a chance to support the local economy every night of the week!
We can’t talk about the area and not mention
good food and drink. From food trucks to bakeries
to outstanding fine dining, the restaurant industry is exploding. New chefs are creating exquisite experiences that are drawing foodies from near and far. Fresh seafood is the star of the culinary scene and there are places
that will cook your own catch to order. It doesn’t get any better than that.
If the phrase, “use it or lose it” is true, then we all
need to plan a physically active retirement. And there’s no better place to get moving. Most mornings find the beaches, sidewalks, and roadways filled with bicyclists, walkers, and runners. Paddle boarders can be seen cutting across the water alongside kayakers. And there are some spots along the beach where the rolling water and the winds meet to create the perfect conditions for sailboarders and kite surfers. Beach strolling and sunset watching are great ways to wind down every day of your retirement.
Be sure your retirement “Some Day” list includes finding a place to call home where your body and mind thrive, a place where your soul engages in what makes you happy and inspired. It will keep you young at heart. But if you feel the need to act your age occasionally, grab the golf cart and head to dinner early, in time to order the senior early bird special.
