POBOYS story and photo courtesy of Mississippi Coast Restaurant & Beverage Assoc.
B.B. and Cindi Minton, owners of
B.B.’s Po-boys in Ocean Springs, are in the food industry, but in the hospitality business. They’ve been serving their famous shrimp and roast beef poboys for almost 30 years and continue to make their guests feel welcomed, comfortable, appreciated, and at home.
“The most gratifying aspect of this business to us is our guests,” said
B.B. Minton. “The friendships and relationships we have established with them far outweigh any other rewards or accolades we could ever hope to achieve.”
B.B.’s Poboys uses only local, Gulf
seafood and other locally-sourced ingredients when possible. Even their French bread is delivered fresh every morning from New Orleans. Almost everything else is made in-house, from their soups, gumbos, and red beans, to the batters, sauces, and dressings. “Even our roast for our poboys is 14-hour slow- roasted in our own ovens,” B.B. said.
B.B. and Cindi are at their restaurant every day from open to close; that’s one of their keys to success. “We are not only married to each other, but to our business,” said B.B. “To be successful in this business, you have to be.”
B.B.’s Poboys is located at 1300 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs. They are members of the Mississippi Coast Restaurant & Beverage Association.
