FINDS
ALL AROUND
“The amount of different directions you can go with design and fashion is really unlimited.” For inspiration, she says all you have to do
is look around. “When you’re out in public, there’s a lot to see!” she noted. “I especially
like to pay attention when I go to new places. I recently stayed the summer with family in
Ukraine and I got to visit some fabric stores. I was able to see some new fabrics and
experiment a little. That was amazing!” Additional inspiration for Bujan comes
from her special needs sister, Arden, a four- year-old non-verbal autistic child. “She doesn’t have the abilities of
most people, but she’s always happy and wearing a smile.
It just reminds me that when something is hard, I can get through it,” she said.
Mother and daughter aren’t worrying about the young designer’s future at this time. “Like any mother, I just want her to have a happy and enjoyable life,” Copeland says. “If she can possibly
travel down this adventurous road and be successful and
happy at the same time, that would be great. She’s still very young and we don’t
want to rule out anything.” Bujan says she’s not
working toward a particular goal right now. “I think as
I get older that stuff will come. My family provides me with a lot of support and I’ve met some amazing
people in the industry. I’m sure I’ll probably need
to go to college, but for
right now I’m just enjoying where I am and what I’m doing.” Bujan’s designs have been shown at fashion
shows in New Orleans and Los Angeles and were recently shown locally at the Bacot McCarty Foundation’s Renaissance the Runway.
