HOME classic meets bold
“I told Janie at Sadie Jane’s that I like bold, vibrant decorations with Victorian and classic gold, white and silver colors and some sparkle,” Angela Randall said. “And she achieved that look for me.”
Just inside the door, the welcoming foyer is resplendent with a cheerful Santa and garlands of greenery, sparkling lights, lush ribbon and accents of gold. In this space the couple’s art collection
is hung gallery style. The marble floor has black insets and arched doorways lead the way into other rooms of this elegant home.
In the adjoining office, an antique English desk holds a commanding spot. It’s surrounded by dark wood shelves filled with books and memorabilia and an Oriental rug on the floor. Pride of place is given to a photo of Judge Randall and his younger brothers at the old Gulf Coast Military Academy.
The Randalls’ love of antiques is also noticeable in the dining room where an 1890s table sets the scene with a beautiful chandelier overhead. A charming snow village collected through the years provides holiday cheer.
A huge Christmas tree is the star in the living room where dark English furniture, a Turkish rug and formal drapes above the French doors provide a pleasing backdrop. Lots of greenery, white and sparkling gold are used to add bling.
“These decorations can be used again and are really an investment,” Angela Randall said. “We’ve also used live flowers, including red roses and slightly copper-colored poinsettias to warm things up a bit. Tony at Ole River Gallery did the floral centerpieces. He also did the drapes.”
The den and adjoining kitchen have lots of gold along with bursts of red. The decorations are a more informal style in this area and feature a sentimental memory tree, nutcrackers, Santas, candy canes and ribbon with a Christmas ball design. The brick floor, red Roman shades and golden glazed cabinets give the room its year- round appeal.
The home’s back courtyard was the scene of a wedding just before our photographer visited and was decked out with touches of red, greenery, doves, and garlands.
EXTRAVAGANT AND LUSH GARLAND line the banister in festive gold tinsel, ribbons and ornaments, including frosted limbs and white poinsettias.
