Excitement is growing for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon as runners register for the inaugural event.
On December 11, the marathon starts in Pass Christian at 7 a.m. and half marathon starts in Gulfport at 7 a.m.
To finish off the last day of the marathon, December 11, the Coors Light Finish Fest with beach party and kids zone entertainment will be held at MGM Park and will offer local Gulf Coast seafood, Mississippi style BBQ and live performances featuring country, rock and blues. The festival will begin when runners cross the finish line Sunday
morning and jams until 2 pm. Interested participants can visit
www.mississippigulfcoastmarathon. com to register. A percentage of the registration fees for the event will go towards supporting the local running community, kids running programs
and general awareness of the sport as
a lifestyle. In addition, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon will give runners the opportunity to raise money for their chosen charities at Crowdrise.com.
