Local Pro earns PGA exemption into 2017 Zurich Classic
Windance Country Club Head Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Professional, Kyle Ramey, was three shots behind after round one. With a 3-under par 69 in the final round, Ramey took home the title
of 2016 Gulf States PGA E-Z-GO Section Champion. This year’s Championship was held at Baton
Rouge Country Club on September 26 and 27. Ramey won by three shots with a 73-69 (142) 2-under par total, and with this win he has earned an exemption into the 2017 Zurich Classic of New Orleans being held at TPC Louisiana.
Ramey weighed in on his final round, “It was a good day all in all. I hit the ball really well and finishing the round the way I did with birdieing 17 and 18 was the cherry on top.”

This was the first tournament that Ramey competed in as a PGA Member. “My goal was to win,” he said. “I wanted to play well and have a good finish. This was a big bonus winning this one. Everything fell right into place.”
Ramey added, “The 2017 exemption into the Zurich Classic of New Orleans is the coolest part of it. It has been a life- long goal coming to fruition. During the event I am going to take it all in. I am very grateful to have this opportunity to even have a chance to compete.”
