GOLDEN YEARS in-home care
raetorian Health Services is focused on helping senior citizens maintain their independence by providing
in-home care.
“We go into the homes to help people
stay in their homes,” said Vivian Champaigne, Praetorian’s director of business development. “What we do is non medical but we work hand in hand with home health and hospice services. We can help with cleaning, changing sheets, taking people to doctor appointments and getting out
to socialize.”
She stresses that all Praetorian
care givers are thoroughly screened with federal criminal background checks, motor vehicle record checks, child abuse registry checks, and drug screening prior to joining
their workforce. “We also provide workman’s compensation insurance for our employees so the homeowners are not responsible if there’s an accident,” Champaigne said. “All team members receive extensive testing and training.”
Champaigne says in-home care is growing dramatically as more families become aware of this service. “People have seen our care and are impressed,” she said. “Some families don’t want their parents to go into assisted living, and we can be like their eyes in the home as many older people have children living out of state. People don’t realize at home care is an affordable option.”
