hat started as a hobby for several Coast model train enthusiasts has now become a popular family attraction in
Gulfport. The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum (MCMRM), located at 504 Pass Road, has attracted thousands of visitors since it opened its doors in April.
The MCMRM is operated by the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad
Club, a non-profit organization. The museum is filled with the private collections of club members, some of whom have been collecting trains from a young age.
“My parents bought me an HO scale train (most popular size) when I was a child,” club secretary Timothy Billings said. “They put in an old school desk for me and when I opened the desk, there was my train. But I’m just one
