It’s no secret that Mississippi is
known as the birthplace of the blues, and that blues has gone on to inspire modern music like rock and roll, jazz, and even country music. The trail was launched in 2006 by the Mississippi Blues Commission and tells stories through words and with photos of blues performers. Learn about how these musicians’ art was influenced by when and where they came from.
There are close to 200 markers located in the state, and over a dozen placed out of state – and some are even out of the
100 Men Hall.
