COAST NOTE
story by Lynn Lofton
This year's Toast to the Coast on October 20 marks 40 years that the event benefitting Coast Episcopal School has dazzled those who attend while raising funds for the school. It begins at 6 p.m. at 5065 Espy Avenue, Pass Christian.
“We are celebrating our 40th year of Toast to the Coast,” says Co- Chair Amanda Wood. “That's 40 years of celebrating and supporting the children of Coast Episcopal School. The CES environment encourages each child to embrace their unique and playful spirit.”
The theme, Forever Young, is about honoring the joys of childhood and embracing that youthful spirit, Co-Chair Liz Seal said. “This
is a toast to our children and to ourselves because we are all forever young at heart.”
The co-chairs say the event's success is a result of several factors including celebrating the love of the culture of the Coast from art to music to cuisine; the desire of the school's alumni, current families, and donors to participate in the school's major fundraiser; and the historical precedent Toast to the Coast has established as one of the area's signature events.
