Steve’s philanthropic efforts don’t stop there; he also contributes his clothes to charities like Back Bay Mission in Biloxi. “I got goosebumps during one encounter in 2014... I set up at the crawfish festival, and a man walked up to me. I didn’t recognize him, but he had my shirt on. He said that he used to live in the woods behind Back Bay Mission but still wears my shirts for inspiration.”
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Steve has slowed down. “With my weak immune system, I am not able to do events. As much as I would love to, I just can’t risk it. For now, it’s shopping online at shopscubasteve. com, and we are carried exclusively at Village Florist.” But despite the setbacks, with his typical upbeat attitude, he
“remains encouraged by the future and our community. “I know something great is always waiting around the corner. I can’t thank God or the Gulf Coast enough, because
they made that 12-year-old’s dream in that bedroom on Rosewood Street come true.”
