I’ve always had a thing about old maps, so I wanted to replicate
DESIGN
that feel in my painting,” he recalls.“Since the festival is held
in Ocean Springs, I included a landmark from the town, which
is why I chose Fort Maurepas. The structure intrigued me and
the color was perfect for the overall scheme I was creating.” Each August, the Ocean Springs
Chamber of Commerce – Main Street – Tourism Bureau and F.E.B. Distributing
Company put out a “call to artists” for their artful interpretations of the Blue Moon brand. The announcement of the winners is made on Sunday afternoon of the festival each
year.
More than 150,000 attendees had the
opportunity to vote for their favorite piece among the Top Ten submissions.
Cynthia Dobbs Sutton, Dan Eckenrode, Jeff and Ryland Bertucci.
