Foodie taste buds are starting to savor as the Gulf Coast Culinary Society counts down to its first event, Bourbon & Pearls, to be held October 18 at the historic White Pillars restaurant in Biloxi. Four award-winning Southern chefs will be creating
a multi-course gourmet meal highlighting Gulf oysters, high-end bourbon, wine and spirits, and other local farm-to-table ingredients.
Gulf Coast Culinary Society founding member Wade Howk describes the event, “This event is more than just a chance to enjoy amazing food created
by some of the region’s hottest chefs. Proceeds will directly benefit Feeding the Gulf Coast’s Mississippi operations and allow them to convert their current Gulfport facility into a food storage warehouse,
thus expanding the number of children, seniors and families they serve on a weekly basis.”
More than 82,000 individuals in South Mississippi do not know where their next meal might come from, including nearly 28,000 children. In 2017, Feeding the Gulf Coast distributed over 1.78 million meals through its Mississippi partner organizations and mobile pantry programs. With the improvements
to their Gulfport warehouse, they will be able to increase their school backpack program, after school meals, summer meals and weekly food distribution to needy individuals and food pantries in South Mississippi.
“We are honored to partner with the Gulf Coast Culinary Society and these amazing chefs for a fun- filled night of food that not only feeds the body, but feeds the soul, which is something our organization takes pride in doing every day,” said Cyndy Baggett, Feeding the Gulf Coast philanthropy manager.
Corporate tables are available for $2,500 and individual tickets are available for $125. To learn more and purchase your tickets, visit www.gulfcoastculinarysociety.com.
