If you’re longing for the good old days when the Coast was bursting with real seafood restaurants whose menus were all about seafood — and not cheeseburgers, pizza, and tacos — then your dream just came true!
The Bayou Caddy Oyster Bar is an eighteen-seat establishment that is exactly what it purports to be, but more. Certainly, you can order fresh Gulf oysters, or some of the best chargrilled oysters you have ever had, but there is a whole lot more this spiffy new place has to offer.
Slid up to the bar and order a killer good shrimp cocktail, a crab salad, smoked tuna, or shrimp or crawfish remoulade, and you are not even getting a good start yet. If you want to
dive right into the local fare, get a cup or bowl of gumbo that is overflowing with shrimp, crab and sausage; and if you want to jazz it up a bit, you have the option of adding lobster, oyster, or crawfish. Gumbo with lobster? Wow! This oyster bar gets it all right with
a beautiful and very functional design and a well thought-out menu, but what makes it run on high octane is Chef Charlie Nieves, a chef with more than thirty years of experience and
a dedication to his craft that shines through with every bite you take.
But let’s get back to the menu. If you are a real seafood aficionado, then you know that one of the best treats to come from the sea is a seafood stew. Cioppino is an Italian-American dish and if
