Here are five adventures you need to experience for yourself in the new year:
1. Visit an art museum or gallery... or six. From the Ohr O'Keefe Museum of Art and Walter Anderson Museum of Art to the Gulfport Arts Center and My Happy Place Gallery, there are a ton of amazing art museums and galleries full of some gorgeous pieces from tremendous talents.
2. Experience some history. I recommend you plan a stay at the White House Hotel and tour some local museums paying tribute to the rich culture and history of Coastal Mississippi. Did you know the White House Hotel dates back to the early 1900s when proprietor, Cora White, began taking in boarders?
3. Cheer on all the action. The Gulf Coast is home to two stellar sports teams: the Biloxi Shuckers and the Mississippi Sea Wolves. With the hockey and baseball seasons differing, there is always some fun sports action to be enjoyed.
4. Win big at a casino. We have a boatload of world class casinos here on the Coast! Have you visited them all? I encourage
you to grab a copy of Jackpot! and take advantage of all the different casino programs and promotions.
5. Explore the deep blue sea. Whether you're interested in a leisurely sail around the Mississippi Sound or something a little more exhilarating such as a deep sea fishing charter, there are so many charter boat captains offering some great excursions that are sure to be a highlight of your year.
