In a food scene that is packed with fresh seafood, rich sauces, and fried everything, I have been so excited to check out the latest in culinary diversity on the Coast: Indian Delight in Ocean Springs. Authentic, fresh, and delicious are just a few of the words that I would use to describe it, and if it isn’t on your immediate list of places to go, it definitely should be.
If you are new to Indian food, the
menu might seem a little overwhelming, but you’ve made it this far so no turning back now. The staff at Indian Delight is incredibly welcoming and accommodating and can guide you through each page, helping you make just the right choice. Want to play it a little safe? They’ve got something for you. Ready to go all in and take a spicy risk? They’ve got you covered there, too. Both customer preference and satisfaction are key and Indian Delight
is ready to take your taste buds on an incredible journey.
Begin your meal with a Mango Lassi, Indian Delight’s take on a mango smoothie. Mango puree, homemade yogurt, honey, and sugar come together making for the
most deliciously cool drink. It’s a great starter and something nice to have on hand when things start to heat up with the next servings.
Naan is one of the best Indian delights for any carb lover and the Mixed Naan is the best way to sample a little bit of everything. Regular Naan, Garlic Naan, Roti, or wheat Naan, and Kalunji Naan, made with yogurt and kalonji seeds, are all featured and there is simply no way to choose
a favorite. The Veggie Samosas were a personal favorite as I’m a true Southerner at heart and love any variation on a fried pie. Maida, a special Indian white-flour is stuffed with potatoes, peas and the perfect blend of seasonings then deep fried. The Samosas are served along housemade mint coriander sauce and a sweet tamarin sauce.
The Chili Chicken is a popular starter with its roots stemming from the Kolkata region. It boasts an East Asian influence with a spicy Schezuan-garlic soy sauce and roasted onion and capsicum. It’s a little on the spicier side of life, but absolutely worth the try. The Tandoori Chicken is a staple item known for being cooked in a tandoor,
