Meet Dr. Brenyatta Travis. According to Dr. Brenyatta Travis, her decision to pursue a career in dentistry was born out of careful consideration and research, as well as an inquisitive nature and a fascination with oral health matters. “From a young age, dentistry sparked my interest, because the career seemed to align with my personal goals and interests. It also stood out from other fields of healthcare because of the additional aspect of intricate manual work.”
It’s that hands-on factor that she loves about dentistry. “It’s mentally challenging and offers me the ability to work with my hands while servicing others. Helping people improve their smiles gives me a strong sense of satisfaction, joy, and gratitude.”
Originally from Petal, Travis enjoys the environment, great hospitality and delicious food of the Coast. Plus, it allows her to be near her family. “I have traveled extensively, but Southern Mississippi holds a special place in my heart,” she says.
Travis is involved in the local community through her church and several community service organizations. “One of my favorite activities is volunteering at a local school to offer encouragement regarding dental care to young children,” she says. “It’s very rewarding to teach oral hygiene and create stronger, healthier communities one smile at a time.”
She believes those close to her would describe her as someone with an adventurous soul, funny, and the unique ability to speak her mind even when it goes against the grain.
