TRENT DICKENS
After being born and raised in Biloxi, Trent Dickens moved to Los Angeles in 2004. After living and working there for sixteen years, he decided to move back home.
“I had been in Los Angeles for 16 years when I started to become disheartened with how the city was changing,” Dickens recalled. “I was barely able to recognize it anymore. The industry was also starting to change.”
Dickens is excited to return to the Gulf Coast, saying that his return feels full circle. “To see how the region has grown and the opportunities that are now here that weren’t when I was younger
is really exciting. I’m working hard to spread the knowledge and experience I’ve gained and to hopefully inspire people and create some jobs. I really think there’s a lot of potential here to start a sustainable film industry. Just got to start by making a great film that the people around here can be proud of.”

Harnessing his years of experience working as a professional dancer and choreographer with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Joe Jonas, and attending the Los Angeles Film School, Dickens’ future is shining bright. He’s already taken knowledge gained from working on big-name titles such as, Thor Ragnarok, The Disaster Artist, Doctor Strange, and applied it to writing and directing his own films.
Locally, Dapper Fox Pictures has been putting all these years of experience to good use, producing high-quality commercials that showcase local businesses such as Mississippi Aquarium, Jernigan Chiropractic, and Kelli’s Steps, the commercial for which won seven Telly Awards and was voted Coast Favorite Local Commercial.
Highlighting the beauty of the Coast comes easy to Dickens, who describes the Coast’s energy as unique. “I’ve been all around the world and this place always stands out,” he says. “The Coast is truly one of a kind.”
