ON THE RISE WITH D'IBERVILLE

D’Iberville is a Coast city on the rise. What was once a city off of Interstate 10 between Biloxi and Ocean Springs is now a major shopping destination along the Gulf Coast with retailers such as Target and Walmart and a list of eateries that includes Olive Garden, Moe’s and Ruby Tuesday’s. Throw in high-end car dealerships and an improved infrastructure and it would be hard to deny the economic boom happening in D’Iberville.

Another key component to the city’s draw is the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort, D’Iberville’s only casino. Since it opened in 2015, the Scarlet Pearl, located at
9380 Central Ave., has not only become
a major gaming destination, but a popular tourism meeting spot as well.
In November 2018, it opened its first SPORTSBOOK with the fantasy sports giant, DraftKings. Other upcoming openings include Lounge Nocherie and Ami Pizza?
“The growth of D’Iberville in the
last few years has been phenomenal,” said Scarlet Pearl CEO LuAnn Pappas. “Our Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort family values our relationship with the city
of D’Iberville and looks forward to continued economic development.”
The casino is coming up a winner for D’Iberville, too. It is one of the city’s largest employers with a team of 800.
With a workforce that is made up of 54 percent women and opportunities that include cross training and on-site GED classes, Pappas is making the Scarlet Pearl a place where people want to work. “We do have some unusual benefits because we believe the more we can free employees’ minds of everyday cares, the better they can perform their duties,” she said.
The Scarlet Pearl is making an impact on the community in other ways as well. Its philanthropic arm includes Habitat for Humanity, the American Heart Association, Gulf Coast Equality Fest and the Pink Pearls To Save The Girls benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The future is wide open for the Scarlet Pearl. Although Pappas wouldn’t say exactly what is coming in 2019, she said more changes are on the horizon for the Scarlet Pearl and D’Iberville.
