ARTS fuel to the fire

alter Anderson’s source material was the source of all things – nature and its infinite variety. Like drinking water pulled from an earthen spring, his paintings, block prints, murals, designs, sculptures, and writings are pure; reflections of the potential for dynamism and vitality. One of his most powerful muses was Horn Island, the wilderness clime floating in the Gulf’s expanse. As I stepped into the role of Director of the Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs, I set out to Horn so that I might connect with the mystery that fueled him.
