Butch Oustalet, local automotive industry leader, was honored by the Pine Burr Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America at their annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Distinguished Citizen Dinner.
Oustalet was featured as Time Magazine
Dealer of the Year in Mississippi in 2001 and
has been the number one volume sales dealer for Ford in South Mississippi for 27 years. Oustalet earned the title of Citizen of the Year for his philanthropic efforts and donations to organizations across the Gulf Coast, including the time he donates to his roles as board member of Memorial Hospital of Gulfport, chairman of the Mississippi State Port Authority Commission, treasurer for Versant Life Insurance Board, board member of the Gulf Coast Carnival Association, and vice-chairman of fundraising for the Pine Burr Area Boy Scouts among many others.
For Oustalet, children are of the utmost importance. “They are the future of all of us and we each have a duty to do the right thing for the future leaders of our community,” he said. “I feel obligated
to do my part as I have been so blessed over the years.”

MOVES TO NEW LOCATION

allery 782 Co-Art is now at its new home at 773 Jackson Street in Biloxi. While the Gallery got its name from its original location at
782 Water Street, association president Don Schiffner says the name will remain the same.
According to Schiffner, the
move was spurred by a variety
of events. “The owners of the
previous location were looking to do
something new with the building and
we needed more wall space,” he said.
“Our new location better fits ours needs. While there is less floor space, we have more wall space due to fewer windows and doors. As a gallery, that’s really important.”
Since moving to their new building, the gallery is experiencing added foot traffic. “With the Redding House being part of a walking tour, we get a lot of new walk-ins that we wouldn’t ordinarily get,” Schiffner said. “And of course, our regular customers know where to find us.”
Gallery 782 Co-Art is an association of professional local artists and interested patrons dedicated to promoting the arts along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Visitors can view original paintings, pottery, photography, jewelry, glass, gift items and more.
