However, a wall was removed between the living and dining rooms to open up the space. A centered two-sided fireplace defines the separate areas. “Opening up the two areas really made it liveable for us,” Jones said, “but we still have the charm of the original house.”
The living area has warm colors, coastal art and accessories. “I like the work of local artists such as Lynn Wade and Joan McCool,” Jones said.
The homeowner took down some outdated wallpaper in the kitchen and added granite counter tops to update that room.
A realtor, Jones and her children moved to Seal Avenue from Woolmarket less than two years
ago and have enjoyed making the home their own. Trey and Savanna’s rooms reflect their interests. She
is a musician and plays the piano for services at D’Iberville Christian
Assembly where her mother leads the singing. Trey, a tenth grade student, won second place in a state wide power lifting competition.
Marine blue colors the walls of the master bedroom where an iron bed, white accents and lots of natural light keep the room bright and breezy. The bathroom has a claw-foot tub and bead board on the walls that are in perfect harmony with a house built in the early 1900s.
