As a registered dietitian and nutritionist, Miranda Hebert lives the lifestyle she teaches her clients at Mission Nutrition every day.
“With good nutrition and natural solutions, nine times out of ten you can take care of your health naturally. I’m extremely passionate about that, especially with my family,” she said.
Hebert is the mother of three children, ages 3, 5 and 7, so she makes sure they eat a balanced diet. Her daughter’s favorite snacks are bell pepper and avocado. One day in her daughter’s classroom, cookies and cupcakes were served as
a treat.
“She came home and told me she only had
a cookie but not the cupcake because she didn’t want all that sugar. That’s all I want to see, moderation,” Hebert said.
She has been a
registered dietitian for
the past nine years,
and founded Mission
Nutrition to fit the
schedule of her growing family in Pass Christian. She also is a wellness advocate for doTERRA essential oils.
Physicians with patients who need diet guidance are referred to Hebert so she can provide nutrition counseling. Anyone who seeks healthier eating habits would benefit from her
guidance.
“On the first visit, I do a complete
nutrition assessment. I go over their food log, health history, medications and what they would like to achieve,” she said.
They do meal planning, portion control, and go to the grocery store to learn how to read labels.
“I don’t focus on calories. I prefer to count chemicals, not calories. There are diet drinks with zero calories, but they have chemicals,” Hebert said.
She has corporate clients where she meets with the employees about
wellness and health goals. Healthier employees mean less sick days missed on the job. She assists her clients with pantry makeovers as
well as managing chronic health conditions, such
as diabetes, through good nutrition. In addition, she now offers food intolerance testing.
“There are foods we eat that are healthy, but may be causing a high
inflammatory response. This testing determines the best foods for that person,” Hebert said.
As you can see Mission Nutrition offers a variety of different services to help clients locally and virtually create healthier habits and achieve a longterm lasting healthy lifestyle.
