Pirate Day in the Bay
to experience the region’s coastal
ecosystem and folklore from the water.
The county’s temperate climate makes
outdoor recreation a year-round activity.
Visitors and residents enjoy golf, tennis,
pickleball, walking trails, biking paths,
and a variety of waterfront activities
throughout the seasons. Nature lovers
will especially appreciate the Stennis
Space Center Buffer Zone Scenic Byway,
featuring approximately 30 miles of
protected roadways that wind through
some of the most pristine natural
landscapes in Coastal Mississippi.
Visitors can also enjoy two outstanding
recreational destinations: Buccaneer
State Park, featuring camping, nature
trails, and a seasonal waterpark, and
McLeod Park, a favorite for outdoor
recreation and family gatherings. Boaters
will appreciate easy access to the water
through boat launches, the Bay St. Louis
Harbor and the Jody Compretta Memorial
Marina, making Hancock County an ideal
base for exploring the Mississippi Sound
and Gulf waters.
Whether your perfect vacation is packed
with activity or spent relaxing on the sand
watching the sun set over the bay, you’ll
discover that Hancock County is the kind
of place that invites you to stay a little
longer—and come back again.
