Kiln
Just north of Interstate 10 is the
community of Kiln, known to locals
as “The Kill,” famous for being the
childhood home of football icon, Brett
Favre.
The area boasts lush, rolling
countryside where farms and livestock
dot the landscape along with large
homes on multi acre homesites.
The Kiln is also home to Mississippi’s
first brewery, Lazy Magnolia Brewing
Company, as well as La Terre Farms,
McLeod Park and Campground, and the
Jourdan River, offering boating, fishing,
birding, and wildlife observation from
canoe or kayak. You can also enjoy the
Hancock County Fairgrounds where
events are held throughout the year
such as the Annual Hancock County Fair
held each September.
The Kiln is also home to the County’s
economic development agency,
the Hancock County Port & Harbor
Commission. The Commission manages
the Port Bienville Industrial Park and
Stennis International Airport & Airpark.
Next door is the new Pearl River
Community College Aviation and
Aerospace Workforce Academy.
Located nearby is NASA’s Stennis Space
Center and the new Ignition Park at
Stennis International Airport.
