IN BILOXI
A series of murals downtown highlight Biloxi’s past in a colorful manner.
More than two dozen artfully crafted murals are displayed on exterior walls of downtown fixtures transforming spaces and buildings into a collection of history.
It’s all part of the volunteer and artist-driven project, the Biloxi Public Art Project. A vision of Biloxi Main Street, the project has grown into a collaboration with the City of Biloxi and local organizations.
The project began in 2019 and includes 28 murals. The murals cover an exterior wall of the host building and depict an event in history, a project or business that once was, an artist, a prominent person, and more.
The mural project spans roughly five miles in the downtown area. When driving or walking, the mural route takes the art-lover through the heart of Downtown Biloxi, passing shops, eateries, museums, and historic sites.
