Greater Biloxi Economic Development Foundation
Biloxi is on the rise and the Greater Biloxi Economic Development Foundation (GBEDF) is playing a key role in supporting this growth. Established in 1981, the Foundation has continually adapted to meet
the evolving economic needs of the community, working to promote and enhance Biloxi and the surrounding region. In recent years, GBEDF
has undergone a transformation, assembling a new Board of Directors that includes local business owners, corporate leaders, city officials,
and community organizations – all committed to fostering progress.
Collaboration and community-driven initiatives are at the heart of GBEDF’s mission, focusing on projects that elevate the quality of life in Biloxi
and beyond. The city’s momentum
has sparked revitalization in long- neglected areas, with the Foundation playing a pivotal role in major developments such as the Ground Zero Blues Club and the restoration of the historic Barq’s Building on Howard Avenue. Additional accomplishments include the completion of an 18-hole disc golf course, support for a new skate park, streetscape improvements for enhanced safety and aesthetics, updated signage, small business grants, and much more.
GBEDF President Bobby Gillon and board members remain optimistic about Biloxi’s future.“When you see businesses big and small joining forces with the City, local non-profits, and residents all with one goal in mind – to improve the community – the sky is the limit!”
