Four employees mark 30 years at property
BILOXI — Golden Nugget Biloxi celebrated four Day One employees as legalized casino gaming celebrated 30 years in Mississippi on Aug. 1. These employees started at the property when it was Isle of Capri Casino — the first casino to open in Mississippi in 1992.
That means, Tommie Proby Jr., housekeeping; Shirley Shoemaker, EVS manager; Crystal Marrow, player services supervisor; and Patricia Wiggins, table games dealer, have been working at the property for 30 years. “These four employees were the bedrock and the cornerstone of what was to come over the next 30 years,” said Golden Nugget General Manager Chett Harrison.
As part of the celebration, they each received paid
time off, gift certificates and permanent executive parking spots.

Two Decades at Geyser Falls
Geyser Falls Water Theme Park celebrated its 20th anniversary in July with cake for employees and remarks from Sheila Martin, executive director
of resort operations, and Chief Cyrus Ben of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. (Inset) Management also recognized two employees, Rhiannon Lilly, revenue manager, and Trent Butler, operations manager. The two have been at the water park since its opening. Geyser Falls has 450 seasonal employees.
Thirty-four team members were honored for having 25-plus years of service at WaterView Casino Hotel in Vicksburg.
WaterView honors long-serving workers
VICKSBURG — WaterView Casino Hotel honored more than 30 team members in July for having 25-plus years of service at the Vicksburg property. A New Orleans-themed breakfast, with plenty of fun and door prizes, was held for the team members, which represent nearly 13% of the WaterView team.
Front- and back-of-house employees, department managers and directors were among the 34 team members recognized. Honored were Andrew Ranis, Brenda Peeples, Carl Nosser, Charlotte Houston, Johnny Henderson, Lisa Yarrington, Mary Meeks and
Sonya Alexander, table games; Annie “Bea” Sanders, Brenda Hughes, Charles Watson, Debra Kaiser, Odis Smith and Stephanie Curtis, food and beverage; Alma Divinity, Frank Davis, Ora Cook, Porter Wilson
III and Sandra Hill, security; Georgette Dee, Josephine Qualls, Laura Wallace and Marian Johnson, casino services; Andrew Neal Jr., Felesia Hedrick and Sandy Goudelock finance; Amelia Mayfield, Detra Fountain and Trinia Jennings, EVS; Lisa Barnette, Mary Parker and Rosia Wilson, human resources; and Brenda Reed and Cynthia Brown, slots.
“These employees have been instrumental in the longevity and success this property has seen,” said General Manager Penny Bankston.
The Vicksburg property opened in 1994 as Isle of Capri Casino before being bought by Legends Gaming and renamed DiamondJacks in 2006. In 2014, Foundation Gaming Group began operating the property, purchasing and rebranding it as WaterView Casino Hotel in 2015.
