The float was a special tribute to Barbie and featured her dream car and magical dream sleigh full of Pearl River Resort associates and their children.
The float also showcased four Special Edition Barbies represented by former Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indian Princesses, Lanena John (’13), Autumn McMillan (’16), Alice Keats (’19 & ’20), and Cadence Nickey (’22). Ambassadors of their Tribe and their culture, the Princesses embody the spirit of Barbie, who has always been a role model for girls of all backgrounds and aspirations.
In Greenville, Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa also had a contest for employees, but this one was not looking for something beautiful. During the property’s Holiday Blast event, there was an ugly sweater contest. While so many employees dressed to un-impress, it was Kurtell Jackson, security officer, who took home the trophy for ugliest sweater.
At the holiday event, Director of Security Isaac Morris donned the red suit and black boots to play Santa Claus, and employees enjoyed food catered by Lil G’s Smokehouse.
Trop Greenville held a holiday breakfast for team members and their families. Employees received gift cards and were able to win prizes.
And along with parties and festive meals, Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort employees found a different way to enjoy the holidays. Theo, a small elf, was a constant presence showing up throughout the property.
The elf, sometimes found on a shelf, could be seen clocking in, visiting with new hires, and hanging out with the security team.
