 You’re Our Hero
 Fitz Casino & Hotel recognized five employees as Fitz Heroes. DeWayne Sutton, security; Charlisa Knight, security; Mike Emery, casino operations; Erica Walker, food and beverage; and Latoya Bearden, casino operations, went above and beyond the call of duty during a recent incident. Fitz recognized the employees with a You’re Our Hero certificate and awarded them with two weeks pay.
   Perfect Attendance
Two Riverwalk Casino Hotel security officers were recently honored for having perfect attendance. Officer Dianna Reynolds, a 12- year employee, and Officer Kenric Sanders, a 10-year employee, were treated to lunch with the director of security. The two, who also were recognized for not having any late days, also received a certificate of appreciation.
 Island View chefs win awards at shrimp fest
 GULFPORT — The 2nd Annual
Gulf Coast Shrimp Tasting & Festival showcased the talents and tastes of local Gulf Coast cuisine. Held in September
at Biloxi’s Point Cadet Plaza, this year’s festival featured dishes from more than 20 local restaurants.
David Crabtree, executive chef of Island View Casino Resort, led his team to win three awards in the cooking competition. The team won first place
in the House Specialty category with
their shrimp taco with mango pico and avocado lime cilantro slaw. They took runner up in the Pasta Dish category with their Creole seafood Alfredo pasta, and won the People’s Choice Award.
Crabtree brought along chefs Angel Lipe, manager C&G Grille; Penny Rush, sous chef; Trey Cowan, banquet chef; Roderick Jones, cook; and Calvin Lipe, room chef.

    Grave Shift Appreciation
Beau Rivage leadership hosted the quarterly grave shift appreciation event in October in the employee dining room. The event, which featured an enhanced menu in the EDR, games and raffle prizes, was held to thank grave shift team members for their work.
 Knocking ’Em Down
 Hard Rock employees put down some pins recently during a fun-filled bowling tournament. Twenty-eight teams of four competed to win prizes, including food comps, gift cards, and Shuckers baseball tickets. The employees enjoyed spending time together away from the casino.
