DL Hughley began his stand-up comedy career in the late 1980s, quickly making a name for himself with his sharp wit and observa- tional humor.
Hughley’s initial foray into comedy was motivated by a desire to turn his life around after a tumultuous youth. The comic gained widespread recognition as the original host of BET’s “ComicView” from 1992 to 1993, which significantly boosted his profile.
